educational philosophy
We will develop human resources who will play an active role on the world stage. We will develop human resources who will create a new society and lead the international community.
Based on the premise of contributing to the maintenance and further growth of Japan's national strength, our major mission is to foster foreign talent who can support both the Japanese economy and society. By fostering talent that will lead to world peace, we aim to build a prosperous "coexistence society."Towards a symbiotic society
While responding to the needs of each individual student, we aim to create a "coexistence society" where Japanese and foreigners can live together, by cultivating in students an awareness of themselves as members of society and the ability to work with others to build a better society, as well as their communication skills.Respect for diversity
In our educational practice, we view learners not simply as students but as "social beings," respecting the multilingual and multicultural nature of each learner, and utilizing this diversity to foster the ability to use language to take an active role in society.Connecting the world
By fostering awareness as global citizens who "connect the world and create the world," we aim to cultivate human resources who can contribute to the creation of a "coexistence society" where people all over the world can live safely and securely.Trusted Japanese language education
Our basic stance is to always ensure the quality of Japanese language education and to provide appropriate and reliable education in accordance with the spirit of the law.educational goals
(1) We view learners as social beings and aim to develop them into individuals who will be active in society.(2) We will create a new "coexistence society" and cultivate human resources who will lead the international community.
(3) We will develop students' ability to learn independently, autonomously, and independently, as well as their ability to continue learning.
(4) The goal is to develop learners' ability to "do" things, and the indicators for this are shown in "Can do."
(5) We recognize and understand the diversity of each learner, based on the premise that each learner is multilingual and multicultural, and support their individual learning.
(6) Classes are based on an "action-centered approach" and aim to comprehensively develop students' five language abilities.
(7) Learning outcomes will be evaluated based on what students can do, and will be indicated by levels based on the CEFR and the Framework of Reference for Japanese Language Teaching. The goal for graduation will be B2 level.
(8) We will develop the imagination, thinking, creativity, and problem-finding and problem-solving skills necessary for working adults.
(9) We will foster an understanding of Japanese culture and manners, and foster the "communication skills that respect others," which is a distinctive feature of the Japanese language.
(10) We will foster an awareness of living with others and develop the ability to connect with the community and society.
(11) We will support students in achieving their desired career goals.
We view learners as "social beings" and provide Japanese language education with the goal of not only developing the ability to communicate using language, but also cultivating awareness and ways of thinking as members of society, as well as an interest and awareness in the local community and society.
In order to develop learners' "ability" to do things, goals are set out in "Can do" statements, and learners and teachers share these goals as they work on learning. The Can do goals are based on the CEFR and the Japanese Language Education Framework, and we use our own "HAJL Can do List."
In order to develop the five language activity abilities of students, lessons are conducted using an "action-centered approach" in which students individually learn through completing tasks. Language abilities such as pronunciation, writing, vocabulary, and grammar required for language activities are learned through task-performing activities that integrate the five language abilities, and support is provided so that each student can learn by setting up training time specialized for their language ability.
Learning outcomes are assessed through five language activities, basic social skills, and the ability to learn independently. The five language activities are assessed based on the "HAJL Can Do List," which was created with reference to the CEFR and the Japanese Language Education Reference Framework, and the results are shown at that level. Basic social skills and the ability to learn independently are assessed using a Can Do List created by our school.
Grades will be assessed based on rubrics, using a combination of performance, exams, and portfolios, covering five language activities, basic social skills, and the ability to learn independently.
We also provide opportunities for students to interact with Japanese students and the local community, and encourage active participation. This will help students develop an awareness of living with others while still at school, and help them develop the ability to connect with the local community and society.
