On Friday, June 6, 2026, the "Campaign to Eradicate Groping and Upskirt Photography," organized by the Totsuka Police Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, was held at Takadanobaba Station on the Seibu Railway, and three students from the Human Academy Japanese Language School Tokyo Campus Volunteer Circle participated.

This campaign is part of a joint initiative by the police and 22 railway companies in the Kanto region, aimed at eradicating groping and upskirting incidents on trains. On the day of the event, international students from our school and approximately 10 students from Mejiro Kenshin Junior and Senior High School cooperated to encourage station users to use crime prevention apps.

At the opening ceremony, following the opening declaration by the Seibu Railway station master and the Totsuka Police Chief, a commemorative photo was taken with everyone. Afterwards, for about an hour, awareness-raising pocket tissues introducing the functions and importance of crime prevention apps were distributed.

■ Comments from participating international students

"I was so happy to be deeply involved in this kind of social contribution activity. If I have the opportunity again, I would definitely like to participate again."

At Human Academy Japanese Language School, we position this volunteer circle activity as an important opportunity for international students to not only acquire language skills but also to develop the ability to live in Japanese society and deepen their mutual understanding with the local community.

We will continue to strengthen our cooperation with relevant organizations, including the Totsuka Police Station and Shinjuku Ward, and promote ongoing activities so that international students can contribute to creating a safe and secure town together with local residents and realize true multicultural coexistence.

We appreciate your continued understanding and support, and we hope you will look forward to the future success of our students.
