In recent years, fraud methods have become increasingly sophisticated and diverse, and we have confirmed suspicious communications disguised as coming from our group or person in charge.
Beware of requests for payment or personal information via phone, email, SMS, or social media (LINE, etc.).
Techniques that require particular attention (latest examples)
Recently, a series of suspicious communications such as the following have been confirmed at domestic companies.
1.Request to create a LINE group and send a QR code
?"I want you to create a new LINE group"
- "Please do not invite other members"
- Instructions such as "Please reply with the group's QR code or invitation link after creation."?
Our company's executives and employees will never request the creation of groups on social media such as LINE or the sending of QR codes, etc., via email or other means.
2.Encourage participation in social media groups and chat services (LINE, Teams, etc.)
- You may be prompted to create or join a group, and ultimately be tricked into entering information or sending money.
3.Scams that exploit the QR code itself (QR code scams/quishing)
- There is an increasing number of methods to trick users into scanning fake QR codes to lead them to phishing sites or to steal personal information and authentication information.
